In these days of the Corona Virus, we have learned several things:
- The Church is the People, more than the building. Of course we want to get back inside for worship and other events. Yet, the truth that we had forgotten is that Church is the people that God gathers, not the place where those gatherings happen.
- Community is not optional—it is necessary. Human connection and contact is vital to our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Without it we are far less and we are susceptible to all manner of anguish and ailments.
- Teachers are not paid enough. Seriously.
- Together is a beautiful vision for our congregation, our society, and our world. While it seems that many forces are against us being together—a spirit of togetherness is at the heart of Jesus’s vision and prayer for the Church (John 17)
As Prince of Peace continues to adjust to these days of Covid 19, we are aware of the growing lack of connection to one another. We continue to seek ways to help us be together while apart. Here is one of these ways: The Connector. This is more than a newsletter, this Connector seeks to strengthen the bond between all of us at Prince of Peace. This will be a place for updates, stories, and highlights about people and families. Prayer requests and some announcements will also be found in these pages. The purpose, however, is more than information. It is to undergird community and facilitate growth in the bonds between us. In short, to help us connect. To one another and to our Lord Jesus who loves you more than you know.
So welcome to The Connector. May the words here help you feel more in touch with the people of Prince of Peace and encourage you to reach out and connect. I look forward to connecting further with you
as we grow in faith together.
